(Amounts do not include cost to operate building)
Basic state aid per pupil has been cut from $4,433 to a realistic potential of $3,726 for 2010-2011 school year; there will be more cuts for future school years! The remainder of USD312 revenue is made up of local option budget (LOB) tax funding.
USD312 district is operating 6 buildings based on 1,000 students, other districts similar to our size operate only 3-4 buildings, drastic changes need to be made! How much are you willing to sacrifice for your student?
USD312 Parents for Equal & Quality Education
***We as Parents for Equal and Quality Education realize the drastic cuts in funding from both the State and Federal Governments will greatly affect all schools in USD 312. In order for our children to have the best education possible, drastic measures must be taken.
STATE OF KANSAS: New LPA audit backs incentives for consolidation-revised
Scenario #1 is for consolidation of schools that do not meet the 1966 statutory requirement for enrollment, and would reinforce that ruling. That requirement was EXACTLY THIS: All new districts offer K-12 AND have at least 400 students or 200 square miles. The original requirement for $2million in assessed property value was excluded from Scenario #1 for this new study.
Scenario #2 would require a new statutory requirement for 1,600 in enrollment. #2 unification would include a plan to consolidate 310, 311, 312 (Fairfield, Pretty Prairie, Haven). 1600 was picked due to a study about peak efficiency and additional funding for students with 1622 and fewer students
